02 Apr Want to mark your business as TEMPORARILY CLOSED in Google?
Advice from John Hockaday – Local Edge (HHBA member )
To see what I mean, google “Diana Elizabeth Bridal”, and you’ll see a red banner on the right hand side – on a desktop – saying “Temporarily Closed” (It will just be red text on a mobile)
People understand that a lot of businesses are closed for the foreseeable future under the COVID-19 Government initiatives.
The quicker you let them know, the better their experience by saving them from having to click through to the site to find out more; at the very least, a notice should be on the Home Page of your site.
And you’ll save time for your team responding with the same information.
Most importantly, it won’t affect your Google Rankings! Here’s how to do it…
1. Sign in to Google My Business on desktop.
2. In the menu on the left, click Info.
3. To the right, point to the section “Close this business on Google.”
4. Expand this section and click click “Mark as temporarily closed.”
