03 Jun Supporting Local Businesses – ARG funding (£1.27m)
Dear HHBA Members,
MSDC are one of the few Local Authority’s so far to get the top up ARG funding (£1.27m)(which they received last Friday (28 May 2021). They will now continue paying the ARG grants to ensure at this challenging time they continue to help local businesses and organisations as much as possible and allocate every part of the funding locally.
Please see the spreadsheet below that shows spend of the Discretionary Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) against funding. Please note that this is data as at the 26 April 2021, which is 5 weeks old but this was published yesterday by the Government at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-grant-funding-local-authority-payments-to-small-and-medium-businesses?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notifications&utm_source=838f9735-91c6-44e3-82fb-0d800bdc854e&utm_content=immediately
If your business is based in Mid Sussex district and is struggling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic then please apply now for business grant funding support before its too late as most current grant schemes close on 30th June 2021.
Mid Sussex District Council are still open for applications to Restart Grant scheme announced by government on the 3rd March 2021. The restart scheme aims to help non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, accommodation, gyms, sports and personal care businesses re-open safely as COVID19 restrictions are lifted. These grants are for both businesses that have been mandated to close and those that have been open during the pandemic so the rules are different to previous grants.
For information on the grants available please visit https://www.midsussex.gov.uk/revsandbens/business-rates/grants-for-businesses/ and view the video by the Council Leader and a local business owner James Cuthbertson at https://lnkd.in/eveM27d. To apply visit https://midsussex.grantapproval.co.uk/.
Please note that you will need to apply for this grant even if your business has received previous grants automatically. This is because of the different qualifying criteria and payment levels. These grants close at midnight on the 30th June 2021.
Additional Restrictions Discretionary Grants are also available again to help all other businesses that have been seriously affected by COVID19, including those that do not have premises or do not pay business rates or a top up to the closed business grants or indeed work from home.
Your business may be entitled to more than one discretionary additional restrictions grant (ARG) and you can apply for support more than once. You can also apply in each funding round of ARG. The current funding window 5 closes at midnight on the 30th June 2021 (please make sure you apply in time).
To apply please visit https://midsussex.grantapproval.co.uk/.
