On the outskirts of Cuckfield we operate out of a beautiful converted barn where we provide a holistic range of services for young children to improve their physical, mental, and cognitive functions. We have a music therapy day each week as well as swimming sessions off-site. Due to the demands for our services and limited space at our HQ we also have an outreach worker who makes home visits to equip parents with the knowledge and skills they need ensuring their child has the best opportunity to live as independently as possible.
Unlike many disability organisations we do not require a formal diagnosis as the sooner work is started with children with developmental delays the better the outcome. Diagnosis can take time and this can be detrimental to the child's future progress.
As cerebral palsy doesn't not discriminate who it impacts; we don't discriminate who can access our services so it is important to us to ensure there are no financial barriers and therefore our services are 100% free. We occasionally get a grant from a foundation or qualify for a scheme, but in the main these amounts are small and are not enough to keep us going. For us to just continue, or even expand to meet the needs of many more families we need help from our community, especially our business community who can benefit from getting involved in many ways.
Charity is more than asking people for money – there are many, many ways businesses can help. You have skills/contacts that we don’t (finance, strategy, design, mentorship, etc etc etc.) and you can add so much value to what we do.
I would love to have a no-strings chat if you’d find it interesting…
YOU can make a BIG difference. :-)
P.S Do you run, cycle, walk, abseil or skydive...? Do you want to...?!
