Dear Kevin,

As you approach your retirement and are therefore completing your term as a COVID-19 Programme Board member I am writing this letter to thank you for your service. Thank you for working closely with BEIS and being an active and valued board member. We value the time, talent, and expertise you have contributed to the programme, during your time in this position.

Your ideas, input, and enthusiasm have been most helpful and have assisted us in making valuable improvements to our programme. Over the past 18 months your contribution has helped refine and improve our reconciliation and assurance processes, begin our debt recovery work, and support us in launching the Omicron schemes at pace during a very challenging time. Together we have made significant progress in closing this £27 billion programme.

May I also take this opportunity to thank you for your dedicated efforts to deliver the grant schemes in Mid Sussex. You have played a vital role in serving the business in your community, rapidly responding to the challenges as they emerged.  This has been part of an unprecedented national effort to support businesses and individuals through a hugely challenging period. Thank you to you and your colleagues for the sustained commitment and hard work, resilience, and flexibility in delivering over 8,259 COVID-19 business grant payments, worth £49,749,910 to businesses.

Again, I thank you for your contribution, time, and effort through the programme and, both on behalf of the BEIS team, and personally, may I wish you a great retirement.
