How to Lead Your Business to Success

Two, free six-hour hands-on workshop sessions that combine to give managers or owners of SMEs, the tools to create a strategy for success.

This is a free, in-person 12-hour immersive programme that is aimed at anyone who manages or runs a micro, small or medium-sized business. It will introduce you to a range of approaches that will help you to develop a strategy for your particular business or organization. It will also help you to decide upon the changes that need to be made and processes which need to be introduced to your business to ensure your success.

Day 1: You will learn how to look strategically at your business, revisit your initial vision for it and see where it sits through the prism of a range of highly regarded strategic success tools including:

• Porter’s Five Forces

• Bowman’s Strategy Clock

• PESTLE

• The Boston Matrix and other frameworks

You will be asked to consider where your business stands in relation to the initial vision that you had for it and to analyse your competitive advantage. We’ll discuss what skills and competencies may be needed to achieve your business goals and what barriers need to be overcome to ensure success. The ability of your business to deliver success will be reviewed using the Business Model Canvas.

Day 2: We will build on the strategic tools used on Day 1 and look at business planning and the other determining factors that create an effective business plan.

Where there might be gaps in your business knowledge, we look at how these gaps could be plugged through free business support. You will also be guided through setting SMART goals and objectives to ensure that the range of key actions and appropriate measures for your business are carefully considered, so that you are immediately able to implement them within your business.

Key measures and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will also be considered and reviewed through the Balanced Scorecard Framework. The importance of accountability will also be discussed.

The programme ends with your review of business risks and the development of risk frameworks using a case study.
