30 Oct Elite Hotel Group wins Best Work Experience Provider award
Leading independent hotel group Elite Hotels has been named the Best Work Experience Provider at the 2018 Springboard Awards for Excellence.
The Elite Hotel Group operates four luxury four-star and five-star hotels: Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club in East Sussex, Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in Bedfordshire, Tylney Hall Hotel & Gardens in Hampshire and The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.
The group received the prestigious hospitality industry award for the work experience programme it runs across all four of its hotels, offering work experience, internships and placements for young people aged 14 and over, as well as adults referred by charities and with disabilities.
Since Elite launched the work experience programme in 2015, more than 200 people have taken part, with on average 25% of placements resulting in a permanent or casual contract being offered.
The Springboard Awards for Excellence are run by the Springboard Charity, which helps young people achieve their potential and nurtures unemployed people of any age into work, as well as championing careers in the hospitality industry.
Managing director of Elite Hotels, Graeme Bateman, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Elite’s work experience programme has been recognised by the hospitality industry, as nurturing talent is something that is extremely important to us and at the heart of our recruitment strategy. We want to open young people’s eyes to how rewarding a career in hospitality can be and change perceptions through hands-on experience. I’d like to congratulate the teams at each hotel for the hard work they have put into making our work experience programme the success it is.”
