Growth by Design is a broad services marketing agency based in Mid-Sussex. Our clients are businesses that are growth-focused but lack the in-house skillset or time to do their own marketing.

Marketing Executive at Growth by Design – Full time or Part-time (20hrs+)

What are the Pay and Benefits?

The salary for this marketing executive role is between £24,000 and £28,000 per year (pro-rata for hours worked) dependent upon experience and capability.

The company also operates a sales commission scheme for introduced business.

A company pension is also available to all team members.

Who are Growth by Design?

We are an award-winning, broad-service marketing agency based in Wivelsfield, East Sussex. Our team works with a wide range of SME clients as an outsourced marketing department, as well as providing ad hoc projects.

In this job, you’ll get the opportunity to work with a wide range of business types, and a breadth of different activities.

What will your role be?

As a marketing executive at Growth by Design, your role is mainly focused on enhancing brand identity for clients, helping them with lead generation and client nurturing and assisting them with reputation management.

Your regular duties will include email marketing, creating social media content, blogging, adapting website content, targeting SEO improvements, and managing some paid advertising campaigns on Google and/or Facebook. You may well also become involved in event planning and marketing for our own businesses.

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • Experience in planning and delivering digital and traditional marketing services (more than internships, or training projects)
  • Confident use of Apple Mac computers and office/marketing software
  • Strong written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • English language qualification (GCSE grade C or equivalent or above)

Important Digital Marketer Skills for You to Possess

  • A marketing qualification such as CIM / DMI diploma or similar
  • Effective social media content creation and page management.
  • Copywriting skills for blogging / general content creation.
  • Ability to plan, create and manage Google Ads
  • Prepare and schedule email marketing campaigns (MailChimp / other)
  • Graphic design skills (basic to intermediate) using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or similar
  • Ability to easily adapt content within a WordPress website setting.
  • Strong personal organisational skills.

Desirable other Skills and Capabilities

  • Ability to plan, create and manage Facebook Ads etc
  • More advanced website design/development skills
  • Capability in using analytics (e.g. Google Analytics / SEMrush)
  • Further SEO skills
  • Ability to produce short videos (vlogs, promo, explainer videos) using basic video equipment and Final Cut Pro X / other editing software.


Job Location:

This role may be worked remotely for the majority of the time, but it is important you are able to travel to our offices easily (East Sussex) when required. This is normally for one day a week (Thursday) as a minimum, but can be more based on client meeting / team meeting needs.

If you would prefer an office location role, there is no issue if you want or need to work from our office for your entire working hours (Covid guidance permitting of course), but we like to offer the option of home working for those that prefer it.

Working hours

FULL-TIME ROLE – 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

There is some potential flexibility on start/finish time with advance agreement by both parties (e.g. start and finish a little earlier if desired).

Ideally Monday to Friday for 4 hours per day during normal working hours.

Fewer days for longer may be considered – please speak with us to discuss if needed.
