Chair’s Update and Welcome to our new members

Dear HHBA Community,

Over the summer period the HHBA has continued holding its events with a very successful networking meeting at Buxted Park Hotel hosted by Stephanie Drinkwater.  The weather was extremely pleasant, and we had an excellent attendance considering it was peak holiday season.

We’ve also recently had the collaborative event at Wakehurst where Jo Chellington invite us as well as East Grinstead Business Association and the Gatwick Diamond Businesses to mingle and network on the beautiful lawn. That was an extraordinary meeting for numbers and sadly I didn’t get to say hello to many of the people that were there.

We are expecting the next event held by our members  1st Central, to be very busy so book early to avoid being on the waiting list

On the 7th of September we had a stand at Haywards Heath town day, where we raised the profile of the HHBA and encouraged local business owners to enter a prize draw. Our members Grape and Grain kindly donated a gorgeous hamper as the prize, so thank you very much for that.

In early September the HHBA committee gathered at Freshmills Co-working space to strategize for the next 12 months. We had the expertise from 1St Central in the form of Tom Acott and Suzanne Chesterton who led this meeting. The enthusiasm for facilitating economic growth in the town was very exciting to witness, so watch this space.

Speaking of the committee, our Treasurer Ann Drury has decided to retire and thus sadly leave the committee. If you know of a member or  if you would personally like to consider this role then please get in touch at I thank Ann for everything that she has done in the background for supporting the HHBA.

An action for you our members to do right now, is to go to the HHBA members directory and update your profile. I regularly look for suppliers on this directory and just this week I searched for a specific business for their contact details and unfortunately there was no submission. Please, please update your company bio if you haven’t already, thank you.

I’d like to welcome the following business who have recently joined the HHBA: –

Puro Ventures Ltd t/a Speedy Freight

Sussex First Aid Courses Ltd

Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity

Rix & Kay Solicitors

Ask Alice VPA

Human View Media Ltd

Please send us any feedback that you have or come and speak to either myself or Sue our Business Manager at any of our events and we would be happy to chat.

Kind regards

Clare Jones
