Chair Update March 2021 – The Year Ahead!

Dear HHBA Community,

Apologies as it’s been a while since I last wrote a news update. I think I was waiting for positive news to write. The world is now a much more posititive place and we are looking towards a future with freedom.

There’s plenty of positive news internally within the HHBA. First up is that Tom Acott from First Central has kindly funded the membership fee for the HHBA to become Affiliate members of the Sussex Chamber of Commerce. This means as HHBA members you get to attend meetings as an affiliate member and take advantage of many other benefits. This adds even more value to your membership so keep an eye out for Sussex Chamber events. https://www.sussexchamberofcommerce.co.uk/

We have a number of new committee members joining the team. Katie Morhen and Paul Boon will be running the events. Mark Elwell, Richard Long and Steve Finch will be taking on the growth and mentoring roles. Thank you so much for joining us.

This takes us neatly onto the events programme which is looking amazing for 2021, thanks to Paul and Katie for working so hard on this. All the events coming up will be listed at https://hhba.co.uk/hhba-events/ so get the dates in the diary as I expect our meetings will be over subscribed.

Coming up this month, we have Katie Morhen and Barney Durant presenting our ‘Meet the Expert’ on ‘How to get new business leads from online marketing’ on 9th March. Followed by the HHBA General Meeting on 23rd March and our first Sussex Chambers Affiliate meeting on 24th March. All our meetings can be found on our website https://hhba.co.uk/

Now approaching one year since we fell into lockdown. I have some very vivid memories of how the HHBA committee got together and decided to embrace the digital world. We didn’t miss a beat. We had no idea what we were doing but without a gap we carried on supporting our membership and for that I am very proud. In fact we held more meetings in 2020 than the previous year.

Thank you for supporting the HHBA especially during this turbulent time, we have recieved some fantastic feedback, do take a read https://hhba.co.uk/what-our-member-say-about-haywards-heath-business-association/.

Please do invite a fellow business to a meeting to see how the HHBA could help their business. Myself and the rest of the committee are really looking forward to spending more time networking with you, and supporting some of our amazing local venues later this year!

Kind regards
Clare Jones
