We do this by running networking and training events for our members, and by putting forward their collective view and position to local government and other policy makers.
Our membership has fluctuated over the years, reflecting the natural changes in the business landscape. We’d like to grow further, to benefit more businesses and our local community.
The officers are elected each year by our members at the HHBA AGM. They are assisted by a Business Manager, Sue Llewellyn.
Officers and other committee members run the HHBA on a voluntary basis, each giving as much time and expertise as they can.
Committee meetings are also attended by representatives of Haywards Heath Town Council and Mid Sussex District Council.
These meetings, together with our networking events, are prime opportunities to create unparalleled lines of communication between our members and local government: our members can express their views on common issues in a unified voice, whilst policy makers can quickly disseminate information such as grant programmes or strategic planning for the area.
Whether you want to share ideas, learn, influence, or simply wind down with a chat and a drink together with your peers, the HHBA offers you plenty of opportunities throughout the year.
With plenty of benefits available to members, membership of the HHBA offers exceptional value for money.
The HHBA is an informal and thriving business networking group in Haywards Heath. From the moment I joined the group I was made to feel welcome and introductions were made to help start the networking off positively. I have made some great connections and experienced some fantastic workshops which have really helped my business to grow.
I joined HHBA to meet new businesses and contacts in a relaxed environment. The HHBA has a diverse range of friendly members who I like to do business with.
I have been a member of HHBA for some years now. As a small business owner it offers me networking, collaboration opportunities and a chance to learn from others be it formally through an Ask the Expert session or just chewing the fat with a fellow member over a glass of something. Definitely worth the membership fee.
Since joining the HHBA a few years ago, I can only describe our experience as positive: HHBA are a proactive organisation and host several varied events throughout the year, suitable for all types of businesses including networking and social events. The former allow us to network with like-minded businesses and the latter are fun events which also serve as an excellent networking platform. This is apart from numerous training events. Membership has also helped to raise our profile in the region and through the various events given us access to clients and those that refer work. In short membership is a good investment and one we would recommend.
Having been involved with HHDBA as it then was, I was in right from the start and on the steering group that gave life to what is now HHBA. There is much of interest available on the website but what I value most is the personal contact as well as the information gained at the evening networking drinks and other events held throughout the year, I particularly enjoyed the breakfast meetings. I would encourage any business in the area to join HHBA as it is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn about their businesses which of course can have benefits for everyone.
As a business owner in Haywards Heath I wanted to ensure that I was networking with like-minded business owners not only to promote my business but to collaborate, share and support each other. The HHBA is a great place to come once a month for a catch-up and their other events offer a chance to dig deeper into specific areas such as marketing, managing staff or GDPR. I really love the fact that each month there is an opportunity for a member to share their expertise with other members and have found these events very informative and useful. Great people, supportive and collaborative.
